Hi guys, my name is Maddy, I’m a freshman from Manhattan NYC. I’m not really sure which direction I would like to go in college yet, which is why I’m a pre major. I love to socialize, travel, listen to music, and watch Netflix. I have horrible vision so I most likely won’t see you first, but if you see me in the halls don’t be afraid to say hi! 

Hey guys, my name is Michael Marinelli. I live in West Islip which is nearly dead center of Long Island. I am currently a junior studying English Education. My hobbies include, but are not limited to: singing, acting, sleeping, binge-watching Netflix and eating. The new Ted Bundy docuseries is nuts! Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I am an English major with a special interest in poetry. My minor is Professional Writing and I’ve only been studying English for about 2 years. Lately, I have been working on a few personal projects that I hope will eventually publish, but if anyone knows that process it’s a long shot. I guess I could depict who i really am as a misunderstood hipster kid from Binghamton who wants some travel but is afraid of commitment. Hope to have a wonderful semester with y’all.

Hi guys! My name is Katlyn Tallman and I am a junior at Cortland. I am majoring in Adolescent Education English and I am excited to be a teacher one day. I live in Marathon, NY which is literally a 20 minute drive from Cortland, so I commute everyday. I am currently watching ‘You’ on Netflix, I’m sure you have heard everyone talking about it and if you haven’t watched it yet, 10/10 would recommend! See everyone tomorrow!

Hey everyone, my name is Jenn and I’m a junior majoring in Speech and Hearing Science. I haven’t taken an English class since my freshman year, so I’m really excited to jump back into analyzing and discussing texts, especially since I recently found an author that I love, and I found the time to enjoy reading in my free time again

Hi guys my name is Lilly! I’m a freshman from Long Island and I’m an Adolescent English Education major. I love movies more than tv shows. Some of my favorite are Unbroken, About Time, The Theory of Everything and a bunch more. First semester was a big adjustment but I love Cortland now and everything it has to offer and hope to be more involved in clubs such as the dance team or rushing!

Hi guys, my name is Alejandro, I’m a junior and I am studying a major in English (with the focus on literature) and this is my first semester in Cortland. I arrived a week ago because I’m an international student from Spain! (I live in Santander, up in the north of Spain) I’m looking forward to meeting you all!!

As for my hobbies, I really like swimming, listening to music (my faves are Lana del Rey, Bastille, Ariana…) and my favorite books are Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray and Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale . 

Also, I also sing and take photos sometimes, guess that’s all! See you in class!

Hey guys my name is Paige and I’m not really sure what to write about. I work a lot.. I’m actually typing this on my break so I need to be fast!!

The basics are: I commute from Vestal to Cortland everyday (majoring in Speech Pathology), I work almost everyday (pretty much full time), and I have a year old boxer puppy who eats everything (anyone want a free dog?!?!). Once upon a time I used to write poetry and then realized I would never make money so I stopped.

Hey, my name is Alex. I am an adolescent English education major. I really enjoy reading, camping, and video games. This winter break I finished a couple of books: Tuesdays with Morrie and Their Eyes were Watching God. I am currently reading Death Comes for the Archbishop by Willa Cather. I am really looking forward to Intro to Multicultural Literature because I am looking to diversify and be more inclusive with the reading selections in my future classroom.
